Long before we launched our online store or started offering travel services, we were the kind of people who found any excuse to hit the road, chase the horizon, or dive into the deep end.

It started with a ten-year-old and a dream

Beverly, our founder, mom, and forever explorer, caught the travel bug early. Like, really early. At just ten years old, she handed over every dollar of her babysitting and birthday money to help take her family on vacation. That $1,000 funded a summer road trip through the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, Meteor Crater, Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, and the Grand Tetons.

Her dad paid her back (with interest) three years later — but the spark? That never left her.

Surf culture meets family legacy

That same adventurous spirit carried into family life. Beverly and her son Ezra grew up rooted in Southern California’s surf and skate scene. It wasn’t just a lifestyle, it was the rhythm of their lives.

There were family surf trips to Hawaii, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Florida. Stargazing. Morning paddle-outs. Back then, gear was stuffed into the back of a sandy van, and adventure didn’t need reservations.

Beverly's love of the ocean began in high school during her co-ed beach activities PE class.  She shared her passion with her husband Gary by giving him his first surfboard before they got married 40 years ago — and yes, he still surfs every single day!

Then came cruising...

In 2018, Beverly and her sister Kelly took a girls’ trip to Las Vegas. A random hotel promotion handed them a free cruise, and next thing they knew, they were sailing the Mexican Riviera on Princess Cruises.

They both fell in love with cruising. The ease, the fun, the happy energy on board, and the feeling of waking up in a new destination every day.

Since that first trip, Beverly has taken 20 cruises (and counting). She even got her surfer husband to fall for the sea in a whole new way.

Today, we cruise 4–5 times a year — through Mexico, Panama, the Caribbean, Alaska, New England, and Canada. Every voyage adds new memories, new connections, and fresh inspiration for what we do.
